The Diocese of Algoma rejoices to announce that the Rev. Dean Jobin-Bevans will be ordained to the sacred ministry of the Priesthood on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Thunder Bay, the Feast of St. Nicholas, Bishop of Myra.

The liturgy will be celebrated with clergy and laity from across the Diocese joining in prayer and thanksgiving. The rev. Phelan Scanlon will preach.

Dean has served faithfully in ministry within the Diocese and is well known to many through his leadership, teaching, and pastoral presence. His ordination to the priesthood marks an important step in a journey of service grounded in the love of Christ and the call to serve God’s people with compassion and faith.

The ordination of a priest is a joyful moment in the life of the Church, reminding us that God continues to call and equip leaders for ministry in every generation. As Dean prepares for this next stage of his vocation, the diocesan community is invited to hold him, his family, and the people of St. Paul’s, Thunder Bay in prayer.

“Almighty God, give grace to your servant Dean, whom you call to the office and work of a priest in your Church. May he be faithful in preaching your Word, and in administering your holy sacraments.”

All are welcome to attend this service of ordination and celebration. A reception will follow in the parish hall.

Stay tuned for an upcoming “Get to Know Dean” feature, where we’ll share more about his journey of faith, ministry experiences, and hopes for priestly service in the Diocese of Algoma.
