Funding Announcement for Lay Readers’ Conference

The Diocese of Algoma is pleased to announce that Thorneloe University has received a $5,000 grant from the Anglican Foundation of Canada to support the 2026 Diocese of Algoma Lay Readers’ Conference. Taking place September 24–27, 2026, in Sudbury, the conference will gather Lay Readers from across the Diocese for theological formation, ministry training, worship, and fellowship.

New Appointment to Thorneloe Board

Dr. Derek Neal as the Archbishop’s representative on the Thorneloe University Board of Governors and the Diocese of Algoma’s representative to the Ontario Provincial Commission on Theological Education. Rev. Derek brings extensive experience in parish ministry, higher education, and theological formation to these important roles.

The Diocese of Algoma has launched a new online resource page for the Facility User Insurance Program, providing information, guidance documents, and portal access for third-party groups and individuals using parish facilities for events and activities.
