Across the Canadian church, a growing number of lay and ordained leaders are naming a common reality: inherited models of church shaped by Canada’s colonial history are no longer serving the gospel or the people of God as they once did. At the same time, new and life-giving models of ministry are emerging—rooted in collaboration, shared leadership, and deeper mutuality.
Shared Way, Shared Witness (May 19–22, 2026, Montréal) is an intimate, participatory gathering created for those who sense the urgency of this ministry moment and want to imagine—and practice—new ways of being church together.
Hosted as a joint project of the Montreal Dio and the Office of Vocation of The United Church of Canada, this conference is designed to foster deep conversation, shared learning, and meaningful connection across traditions and contexts.
Participants can expect:
· Theological reflection grounded in lived experience
· Honest conversation about decolonizing church structures and leadership
· Practical skill-building for collaborative ministry
· Space to strengthen networks across the Anglican and United Churches
· Opportunities to explore models of shared leadership and emerging community
This gathering builds on a growing national network committed to rethinking how we lead, serve, and witness in this moment. It is particularly well suited for clergy, lay leaders, ministry teams, and those discerning new forms of community-rooted ministry.
If you are seeking thoughtful engagement, courageous conversation, and practical tools for collaborative leadership, this conference offers both depth and direction.
