Diocese Launches Campaign to Grow Subscribers

The Diocese of Algoma is launching a fall subscription campaign to expand the reach of its new diocesan e-newsletter, the Algoma Anglican Weekly News. The goal is to grow from 600 current subscribers to 2,000 by the end of 2025.

“We stay together by the spiritual practice of being together,” says Archbishop Anne Germond. “Across our vast diocese, we need ways to strengthen the bonds of our life in Christ, to hear one another’s stories, and to share the joy of what God is doing among us. The Algoma Anglican Weekly News is one way we can be together — week by week — even when distance separates us.”

The Algoma Anglican Weekly News was launched earlier this month. Published every Friday, it will offer reflections from the Archbishop, parish stories, and upcoming events. Archbishop Anne has invited incumbents and parish leaders to ensure that every parishioner in every parish is given the chance to subscribe.

“I want no one to be left out,” she explains. “My hope is that this newsletter will be a weekly touchpoint where every Algoma Anglican can be reminded that they are part of a much bigger family of faith. Together we are stronger. Together we encourage one another. Together we share in the joy of being God’s people.”

The campaign will roll out in three coordinated ways:

“There is so much good news in Algoma,” says Archbishop Anne. “Stories of faith, of service, of joy. My hope is that each week, when people open the Algoma Anglican Weekly News, they will feel as if they are drawing joyfully from Algoma’s living waters — refreshed, encouraged, and reminded that they are not alone on the journey.”
