The Diocese of Algoma is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Abiola O’Naiyese to the position of Administrative Assistant, effective December 1, 2025.
A lifelong Anglican, Abiola (Abi) was born, baptized, and confirmed in the Church. Her family’s deep roots in Anglican life—her father’s 25 years of service on the Parochial Church Council of Our Saviour’s Anglican Church, Kabba, and her uncle’s work as Joint Auditor for the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion)—have shaped her understanding of faith, service, and community.
Abiola describes this new role as a meaningful opportunity to reconnect her family with the life of the Church while using her administrative gifts to support its ministry. “This position feels like coming home,” she shared in her application. “It allows me to combine my professional experience with my commitment to the Anglican faith.”
Professionally, Abiola brings over six years of experience in administration across healthcare, consulting, and corporate settings. She has developed a reputation for strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a compassionate, team-oriented approach. Most recently, she served at Chartwell Southwind Retirement Residence in Sudbury, where she coordinated front office operations, improved record systems, and provided daily support to residents and families. She has also held administrative positions with Norm’s Appliance Service in Sudbury and Njame Consulting and Krustallos Consult in Nigeria.
A graduate of the University of Ilorin (B.Sc. in Mass Communication) and Cambrian College (Certificate in Business Analytics), Abiola brings both technical skill and a genuine commitment to serving others.
“We are delighted to welcome Abiola to our diocesan staff team,” says The Most Rev. Anne Germond, Archbishop of Algoma. “Her faith, professionalism, and dedication to excellence will be a great blessing to our diocesan community as we continue to support clergy and lay leaders across Algoma.”
In her new role, Abiola will support the Office of the Archbishop and Executive Officer, as well as assist with the Postulancy Process and Communications for the Diocese.
Beginning December 1, Abiola can be reached at abiola.onaiyese@dioceseofalgoma.com or by phone at 705-256-5061, extension 27.
Please join us in welcoming Abiola as she begins her ministry among us this December.
