From Barb Garvin, ACW President
Greetings, sisters in Christ,
It is a privilege to serve as President of the Anglican Church Women Board, representing every woman across our great and diverse Diocese of Algoma.
We are young and old, rural and urban, rich and poor, tall and short—each of us bringing our own unique mix of gifts and talents. What unites us is simple and profound: we belong to Christ. And because we belong to him, we are called to do his work—to love, to serve, and to care for God’s people.
Throughout our history, Anglican Church Women have been known for faithful mission and outreach: in our parishes, across the diocese, throughout Canada, and around the world. That legacy continues because of you. Thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your willingness to serve. Your loving and giving spirit makes a difference every day.
I look forward to gathering with many of you at our upcoming Zoom conference, sponsored by the Thunder Bay–North Shore Deanery, at the end of May. More information and registration details will be shared soon.
In the meantime, I encourage you to keep up the good work and to continue enjoying fellowship with other Anglican Church Women. May you be strengthened by one another and by the love of Christ that binds us together.
Yours in Christ’s love,
Barb Garvin
ACW President
P.S. I also encourage you to share news of your work—reflections, stories, or photographs—with the Diocesan Communications Office. In the coming months, we will be partnering with them to help share the stories of our ACW members across the diocese. You can reach the communications team at communications@dioceseofalgoma.com.
