New campaign with the Anglican Foundation of Canada invites parishes to participate, give, and help build a renewed vision for ministry across Algoma
The Diocese of Algoma is launching a Say Yes! to Kids campaign in partnership with the Anglican Foundation of Canada, inviting parishes and individuals across the Diocese to take part in a shared effort to support children, youth, and family ministry.
This campaign flows directly from a commitment made at Synod 2025. By resolution, the Diocese committed to renewing its Pastoral Plan for Child and Youth Ministry, with a new plan to be brought forward in 2027.
That commitment now moves from vision to action.
Why This Campaign Matters
Across Algoma, parishes are asking important and urgent questions:
· How do we reconnect with younger generations?
· How do we create spaces where children and youth belong?
· How do we equip leaders and support volunteers?
· How do we build ministry that reflects the realities of a large and diverse Diocese?
Through Say Yes! to Kids, the Diocese is raising both awareness and resources to support consultation, youth leadership, connection across regions, and the shared work of shaping a renewed plan for ministry.
How Parishes Can Participate
This is a Diocese-wide effort, and there are several simple and meaningful ways for churches to get involved:
· Download and share the campaign poster
· Include the bulletin insert in parish communications
· Host a “Say Yes! to Kids Sunday” in your parish – access campaign resources and plan your parish’s participation: https://www.anglicanfoundation.org/sytksunday
A Shared Commitment
Say Yes! to Kids is about helping the Diocese of Algoma move from a Synod resolution to real, diocesan-wide action. It is about creating space for young people not only to participate, but to help shape the future of the Church.
Together, we can strengthen ministry with children and youth across Algoma—and help ensure that the next generation is not only welcomed, but deeply rooted in the life of the Church.
