Muskoka Deanery ACW Spring Gathering Brings Members Together in Bala

Members of the Anglican Church Women from across the Muskoka Deanery gathered Saturday at Trinity-All Saints Church for their Spring Gathering, a day centred on worship, fellowship, and shared learning.

The gathering opened with Morning Prayer led by The Rev. Heather Manuel, who preached on Ascension Day. Host parish volunteers also provided refreshments and lunch throughout the day.

Guest speaker Mary Asbil reflected on her spiritual journey and on life in episcopal ministry.

“After lunch our guest speaker, Mary Asbil, shared parts of her spiritual journey and the particular calling of being the spouse of a Bishop!” wrote Archdeacon Kelly Baetz.

Baetz said the quarterly gatherings continue to play an important role in maintaining relationships across the deanery, even as fewer parishes maintain formal ACW chapters.

“Although not every congregation has a formal ACW group of their own these days, these quarterly Deanery gatherings keep us connected and, as always with ACW, focused on God’s mission to the world He loves.”

The Spring Gathering was hosted by the Bala parish community, whose hospitality helped shape what participants described as a joyful day of connection and encouragement.
