The Diocese of Algoma marks with sorrow the deaths of two members of our diocesan family. We give thanks for their lives and commend them to God’s eternal care.

Stephen Daniel Tyczinski

The Diocese of Algoma mourns the sudden death of Stephen Daniel Tyczinski on April 25, 2026.

Stephen was the beloved husband of Rachel, a devoted father and grandfather, and the spouse of a warden at Christ Church Korah in Sault Ste. Marie. Through his family’s leadership and presence in the parish, Stephen was closely connected to the life of the Church and will be remembered with deep affection.

We hold Rachel, his family, and the parish community of Christ Church Korah in our prayers at this difficult time.

A visitation and funeral service were held at Christ Church Korah on May 1.

Albert Robert LeBlanc

The Diocese of Algoma mourns the death of Albert Robert LeBlanc, who died peacefully on April 23, 2026, at the age of 91.

Albert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a longtime and faithful member of Emmaus Anglican Church in Sault Ste. Marie. Following his retirement from Algoma Steel, he served the parish for many years as custodian, offering quiet, steady care for the church and its community. His faithful service and presence were deeply valued.

We give thanks for Albert’s life and ministry, and we hold Edith, his family, and the parish of Emmaus in our prayers.

A celebration of life was held at Emmaus Anglican Church on April 30, with inurnment at St. Luke’s Columbarium.
