A Night of Honours and Gratitude at Thorneloe University

Thorneloe University’s 2025 Convocation celebrated new leadership, honoured several members of the Algoma community, and deepened long-standing ties between the diocese and the university. The evening included installations, awards, and a moving surprise gift of $20,000 to the Anne Germond Legacy Fund, received with profound gratitude.

Sudbury–Manitoulin Deanery to Host Advent Lessons & Carols Service

The Sudbury–Manitoulin Deanery will host an Advent Lessons and Carols service on Sunday, December 7th at 4 p.m. at the Church of the Epiphany in Sudbury. Led by the Ven. Glen Miller and featuring Algoma’s 35-voice Deanery Choir, all are warmly invited to this beautiful service of Scripture and song.

Project Backpacks

Parishes in Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie are supporting students with back-to-school outreach. From backpacks to calculators, churches are setting tables of generosity and inviting God’s blessing on children and families as a new school year begins across the Diocese of Algoma.

In Memoriam: Joan Elizabeth (Joni) Steadman

We mourn the passing of Joan (Joni) Steadman, beloved wife of Rev. Dr. Bill Steadman, who died peacefully in Sudbury on July 25. A Celebration of Life will be held August 27. Please keep Rev. Bill and all who mourn in your prayers.
